Product information "Silver electrolyte"
Article description:
Betzmann Galvanik Silver Electrolyte - the product properties at a glance:
30 grams of silver per liter - Highly concentrated for fast silver plating.
Cyanide-free and safe to use - also ideal for hobby users
Suitable for bath and pen plating
Builds up thick silver layers very quickly
Produces shiny silver layers that can be polished to a mirror finish
Please note that you will need both a power supply and bath or pen plating equipment to create abrasion resistant silver layers on objects.
The silver electrolyte is excellent for bath and pen plating. With the cyanide-free silver electrolyte from Betzmann Galvanik, you can easily perform electroplating yourself! In contrast to highly toxic silver electrolytes commonly used in industry, the cyanide-free silver electrolyte is safe to handle.
The electrolyte deposits robust and attractive layers of fine silver. The silver deposits brightly and usually does not require polishing.
The electrolyte is ideally suited for silver plating jewelry, restorative silver plating of silver flatware and electroplating of many other items. Due to the high silver content of 30 grams per liter, the electrolyte precipitates silver very quickly - this is particularly advantageous in pen electroplating, as it reduces working time. Base metals such as zinc or iron should be nickel-plated, copper-plated or silver-plated before silver plating.
Please note that bright silver layers can only be produced with a silver anode. We have suitable anodes in our range.
Alternatively, the use of graphite electrodes is possible!

Quickly builds up a thick, bright layer | Silver plating a wide range of items such as silver plated antiques (no need to remove all the old silver plate – just prepare the surface with our MPU and re-plate the areas that have worn away); Silver plating electrical components to increase conductivity. Reduces the requirement for polishing both before and after plating. Can be used as a barrier layer for copper and copper containing alloys and gold when plated to a 3 micron thickness. |
Cyanide free | Great for using in schools and colleges as it’s low hazard |
